India Today (http://www.indiatoday.in) started it, I think. Several years ago, they shocked and surprised everyone by doing a survey about sex habits of Indians. It must have been so successful that they made it into a yearly feature. After all, once in 52 issues is no big deal. Outlook (http://www.outlookindia.com) also does this too. Over time, Digit magazine also started doing it, ostensibly to protect precocious readers from SEX ON THE INTERNET! What’s the point? All Indian portals are now full of soft porn now!

I stopped buying Digit magazine (http://www.thinkdigit.com/) issues from news stands and started their no-DVD magazine-only subscription. The movie trailers in the DVDs can traumatize you. Even cartoon movies are horrible. Most Hollywood movies today have absolutely no entertainment value. They are so brutal and boring. I am not someone who eschews violence or gore. Give me Enter the Dragon or Terminator 2 or Project A any day. I play Resident Evil IV and I am fine with that. What can you do if the movies is all about violence with a plot sneaked in somewhere almost as an apology? And, then there is the other end – Harry Potter, which only idiots will see. Everyone’s so stupid that it is depressing when you think about it.

Several of my magazine subscriptions ended recently. I did not renew them because I have still not finished the old issues. I would have taken their renewal discounts and special offers and given them to a family member or to my kid’s school. What stopped me from doing it is their obsession with sex. Why are they so stupid? They think they are increasing sales when it has exactly the opposite effect.
