Many Western newspapers had started special India editions expecting Manmohan Singh to open up FDI in print media.
Never let a tragedy go to waste. We have seen this several times in the past. Whether it is Modi losing elections or Brexit vote, Jaitley exploits the panic to the advantage of globalist kleptocrats by allowing FDI in news sectors of the economy that was previously not allowed.
So, when is it for FDI in print media? For several years now, Indian Readership Survey was used to falsify newspaper numbers so that media buyers could (ignore Audit Bureau numbers) and excuse themselves for advertising on loss-making Internet properties (“New Media”). Contrary to expectations, Indian newspapers have grown from strength to strength.
Jaitley has an extremely cosy relationship with many media barons. The phony Modi Wave campaign, which legitimized the tampered voting machines result, was undoubtedly the result of a premeditated media effort. And, the quid pro quo? No FDI in print media? Or, is it the case even now. Manmohan Singh was a media darling at the hight of 2G scam. But at the last few months, when Modi became the choice, the same choir started cold-heartedly called him a weak prime minister, just like Advani.
FDI in multi-brand retail was supposed to be a no-no up until now but Jaitley used Brexit to sneak in FDI in food retail – directly affecting grocery and vegetable shops. How did that happen?
My guess that at the end of Modi’s term, Jaitley will sneak the “FDI in print” bird out, that is, when it becomes clear Modi will lose elections. Remember, how Reliance Industries used Economic Times to extract the maximum out of the Congress government at the fag end of Manmohan Sing government. (https://moralvolcano.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/free-plane-rides-to-pols-is-bribery-no-matter-how-it-is-accounted-for-it-is-like-stealing-from-company-accounts-by-submitting-false-receipts/) The first two pages of the paper that day was a open request to Congress to help Reliance. This was despite Moily’s bonanza to Reliance on the KG Gas price issue. (It was doubled.) It wasn’t just Reliance. Many Congress ministers and corporate houses skipped their annual pilgrimage to Davos that year so that maximum benefit could be made before a change of government.
What is poisonous to the worm will also be poisonous to humans, as the pesticide is not sprayed but genetically produced in every cell of the crop.
Beware of the “refined” cooking oil available in the market. Instead of mechanically pressing the seeds to extract oil, oil refiners are using chemical solvents to do the same. And, to make the oil look crystal clear more chemicals are added and vital nutrients are removed from it. (Hindu Business Line; Solvent extractors trade body locks horns with Ramdev’s Patanjali; http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/economy/agri-business/solvent-extractors-trade-body-locks-horns-with-ramdevs-patanjali/article8547756.ece) Vandana Shiva writes (http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/blink/know/small-oil-crisis/article8194051.ece):
The ghani (oil extraction plant) set up by Mahatma Gandhi at Sewashram in Wardha, Maharashtra, has been a visible and working symbol of a self-reliant community since 1934. This living legacy is now in danger of shutting down.
Ghanis have been around since ancient times. Food historian KT Achaya dates the use of sesame oilseeds to the Harappan civilisation around 2000 BC. The ghani entails a symbiotic relationship between farmers who grow oilseeds and consumers looking for fresh, healthy, cold-pressed oil. This rustic, grassroots enterprise today finds itself on the wrong side of modern food safety regulations.
Now, to make more profits, solvent extractors are blending cooking oils with cottonseed oils. Much of Indian cotton farmers have switched to the poisonous GMO cotton. People oppose GMO for common sense, scientific, and economic reasons.
Common sense – the idea of splicing plant gene strands & putting poison-producing genes from a bacteria should be revolting. It is also a disproportionate response, like swatting a fly with a hammer. Instead of spraying a pesticide, they are putting it in every cell of the plant.
Scientific – The pesticide (from the bacterium genes) is in every cell of the crop unlike earlier solutions such as sprayed pesticides which can be washed away. The pesticide that kills the bollworm will harm humans too, even if it doesn’t immediately kill them.
Economic – For millennia, farmers are used to retaining the seeds from the current harvest for planting in the next harvest. GMO companyies want to take away this right by selling them third-generation seeds which mathematically increase the number of unviable seeds with each replanting. GMO crops are not only designed to make farmers dependent on the seed manufacturer but also specially designed pesticides such as glyphosate.
Scientists benefiting from GMO brush aside all opposition as the babblings of a superstitious lot. LEAVE THE SCIENCE TO US!
Apparently, the “bollworm-resistant GMO cotton” is not really bollworm-resistant. Even though a majority of cotton farmers have switched to SCIENCE-based GMO cotton, they still have to contend with many strains of bollworm. They have to continue to buy pesticides, which the GMO poison was supposed to eliminate. In the US, GMO and glyphosate use has given rise to “super weeds” which grow taller than a human being! (They weeds adapted with genetic mutation as only those that survived the glyphosate spraying to create another generation.) To combat super weeds, farmers are spraying more pesticides, endangering not only themselves but also those living in the neighborhood of these farms. (GMO poisoning is then given new causes such as Zika virus without any scientific basis.)
So much for all that SHIENSH claims! Monsanto claims that testing the safety of GMO and related pesticides is not its job.
Contrary to public belief, US FDA & DOA don’t do any testing. certifing. The revolving door policy encouraged by US presidents over several decades ensures that ex-industry executives (not scientists) who become officials in these government agencies are richly rewarded when they return back to the industry after their stint at “public service”. US government scientists do not actually validate any product on the market. They are there to create an illusion for the benefit of a gullible public.
Opinion polls snuff out MDMK-led coalition. PMK’s chances wiped out because of manifesto “issues”.
Rothschild voting machines (EVMs) have once again voted for BJP in Assam, despite the fact that party has no base in Assam. Although the EVMs voted for the Communist-led coalition in Kerala, Congress miraculously won more than half as much as the Communists. This is astonishing despite 2 terms of scam-tainted Congress rule. Congress should not have won the previous term either. American embassy officials who decide which way the EVMs should vote are not totally pro-Congress. In TN, the ensured that BJP’s rival Congress’ coalition with DMK did not win. Apparently, it hasn’t yet dawned on the DMK that the EVMs are controlled by US embassy. They should do a deal with the Americans to win next time. PMK made the mistake of including a lot of viable pro-poor and pro-farmer solutions in the manifesto. The Western multinationals don’t like that. In politics, truth should be revealed only when its time has come. Otherwise, you create unwanted enemies and destroy your chances.
In a stroke of genius, Jayalalitha had offered 100 units of free electricity. This meant that most households in TN would make significant savings in their monthly expenses.
However, the shine from the victory will not last. Just look at Modi. He scored a massive victory but now looks a worse lameduck than Manmohan Singh. The TN govt has a huge debt load. State-owned firms also have lakhs of debt. The gradual implementation of liquor prohibition will create a huge void in the state’s revenues. (The state started vending liquor because of numerous incidence of sale of spurious liquor and consequent deaths, and the rampant amounts of kickbacks that police and politicians from deriving from the illicit trade.). The offer of 100 units of free current from the already stressed Electricity Board will create even more problems.
The only solution for Jayalalitha is to to oppose GST and ensure that Sales Tax and other state taxes are collected properly. The tax rate should be low to ensure there is no evasion. The state should target the big traders and shop establishments first and ensure they all pay. Small traders should be spared or asked to pay self-declared nominal amounts. Otherwise, she will become a failure like Modi.
Another problem that her second terms faces is from the DMK. Though her coalition MLAs had contested the elections under the Two Leaves symbol, there is no guarantee that DMK will not attempt to wean away her MLAs and break her party. DMK has more MLAs now and they are not likely to wait for 2021 for to get back into power.
Opinion polls snuff out MDMK-led coalition
The People Welfare Front had some momentum but it was all vaporized by opinion polls which predicted they would lose. The coalition was formed very late in the game and did not do enough preparatory work to make a viable case for itself to form an alternate government. At least CPI and MDMK would have won a few seats. American embassy officials decided otherwise.
Stalin should return to வெள்ள வேட்டி & abandon social-media-crazy new-age marketers
The taint of 2G is not easy to shake off. Some stuffed-up marketers sold Stalin the idea that the நமக்கு நாமே campaign would be enough. Ignoring his own good judgment, gained from decades in politics, he got sold on the advice of some PR gimmick specialists. It has no effect on poor and rural voters. He even gave up traditional dhoti and became indistinguishable to the crowd in election meetings. If DMK won almost 100 seats, it was only because American embassy officials wished that PMK and other parties should lose. BJP leadership seems to have been already told what the result was going to be. They did not show up for press conferences or showed up late. They left Tamilisai Soundararajan and others to fend for themselves and perform a thankless job – all for nothing.
There is no doubt that Karan Thapar is a koolaid addict of the worsk kind. Tavleen Singh says that Karan Thapar told her that her last book would have been good except for the pages about Sonia Gandhi.
Throughout the interview Karan Thapar tried to get her to apologize for being harsh on Vajpayee or Sonia Gandhi but Tavleen Singh ignored it and went on eloquently about her complaints against them.
Giving up, Thapar resorted to bad-mouthing her book and misquoting her. In her previous book,Tavleen Singh seems to have mentioned that Sonia brought new clothes from Italy for her son. Karan Thapar misquotes her by saying that Sonia brought Rahul’s old clothes for her son. What shameless attempt to put her in her place! For whom is he doing this? Somebody ought to break his butting chin with a hammer. Singh simply said he has not understood the subject and asked him to read the book again before doing an interview.
The book is titled India’s Broken Tryst. Thapar tried saying the title had no bearing on the book and it was just another of her pet collection of anecdotes and no analysis. Without losing a beat, Singh said the title was about promise made at the time of independence and every anecdote was about how various leaders have broken that promise. See this interview and you will agree that this prick should be dispatched to hell like the atheist bloggers in Bangladesh.
Rajinikanth once scolded a student for talking in the class. The student never spoke again. His name was Manmohan Singh.
You may have heard of “Operation success but patient dead joke” but Rajinikanth does one over that.
If these voting machines can make BJP win in places like Assam, then Bihar will be a cakewalk.
Instead of contesting Bihar elections separately, splitting the vote & making BJP an also-ran footnote and forming a colation after the elections, secular parties have clumped together to give added credence to the phony Voting Machines that will give a higher share of votes to the discredited Modi Wave!
- There was a mosquito on his face. Jayalalitha’s metro trains are already a breeding ground for disease-causing insects.
- Ticket inspector was approaching and Stalin did not have a ticket.
- Nobody gave Stalin a seat.
- Stalin missed his stop because this guy had been blocking the window.
- Stalin ran out of ideas on how to steal the limelight from Jayalalitha, who had come out of jail just in time for the Metro inauguration.
- Stalin wanted to show small-time opposition leader Capt. Vijayakanth the proper way of slapping party workers.
- The guy stepped on Stalin’s toe.
- Stalin wanted to take a selfie with ordinary passengers and this guy was hogging the frame.
- The guy asked “Stalin Uncle” to gently brush his hand across his cheek.
- It was all a conspiracy by Jayalalitha and Jaya TV.
Ed Miliband, who’s doesn’t know how to blink like a normal human being, is sure a lizard.
I told you in October that Modi is no different from the others. Legions of stupid BJP supporters claimed Modi will help Khemka and put Vadra behind bars. They will all be greatly disappointed when his term ends and a Congress government is sworn in. How sad will that be! A total loser will become PM. Worse than Manmole Singh!
