Albatross or millstone? Times Of India once again gets its metaphors mixed!

First line of frontpage story on #Jayalalithaa story makes hilarious reading! “Yes, albatross around the neck! Sounds good!”

Read the poem dorks! It’s all in the mind. A millstone around the neck slows you down, makes you uncomfortable and prevents you from doing anything useful – putting it mildly. The mariner’s albatross was something rankling his mind and mind alone. It was attributed by his fellow sailors to have brought them ill luck.

Nobody at the paper corrected them. They went on and on about it.

Times Of India tweets like mad with the albatross mixed metaphor.

Going on & on about it! It shows how stupid the whole lot is. I read somewhere that a lot of good have left the paper, which was never very good except commercially, after some lizards took over.

See, these guys couldn’t write English even if someone gave them a stencil and some black paint.
